01What a handling request covers
A handling request is a single booking that includes everything the aircraft, crew and passengers need on the ground: marshalling and parking, ground power, passenger and crew handling through the terminal or general aviation terminal, baggage, cargo handling, lavatory and water services, and the arrangements with customs, immigration and airport security.
We choose the handler that suits the flight, whether the airport's main handler, an FBO or a cargo handler, and send them one confirmed set of details. If anything changes, we update the handler, the slot and the permits together.
02What we arrange at the airport
Depending on the airport and the flight, we coordinate:
- Ground handling and general aviation terminal or FBO services
- Ramp, parking and hangarage, including long-stay parking
- Airport slots and prior permission required (PPR)
- Catering for crew and passengers
- Aircraft security and guarding
- Cargo handling, including dangerous goods acceptance
- Cleaning, lavatory and potable water services
- De-icing and ground power, where available
03Airport slots and PPR
At coordinated airports, every arrival and departure needs a slot from the slot coordinator. Other airports ask for prior permission required (PPR) because of limited parking, opening hours or restricted operations. Slots and PPRs are separate from the state's landing permit, and a flight can need all three.
We request slots and PPRs together with the landing permit and the handling, track their tolerances against your schedule and move them when the schedule moves.
04How a handling request runs
Every request follows the same steps:
- You send the schedule, aircraft and any special requirements.
- We confirm which handler, slot and PPR the airport requires, and flag curfews, parking limits or opening hours.
- We book the handling and send the confirmation to you and the crew.
- On the day, our OCC keeps the handler updated with your actual times and deals with any change.
- After the flight, we check the handling invoice against what was ordered.
05Frequently asked questions
What is included in ground handling for a business jet?
Usually marshalling and parking, ground power, passenger and crew handling through the terminal or FBO, baggage, lavatory and water, and coordination with customs and immigration. Catering, fuel, hangarage and security are ordered separately, and we arrange them in the same request.
What is the difference between a slot and a PPR?
A slot is the arrival or departure time allocated at a coordinated airport. A PPR is an airport's permission for a flight, often required because of limited parking or restricted hours. Both are separate from the state's landing permit.
Can you arrange handling at short notice?
Yes. Our OCC works 24/7 and books handling as soon as the schedule is known. At airports with limited hours or parking, we tell you straight away if the request cannot be met and suggest alternatives.
Airport services, opening hours and local requirements change. This page is a general guide: our OCC confirms the arrangements for every request before you fly.
Planning your next trip?
Send us the routing, aircraft and schedule. Our 24/7 OCC confirms what each stop needs and arranges it in one trip file, from permits to hotels.
